Captain is one of the nine puppies from the Ally × Ollie litter, born on 8 December 2023. From the very beginning, he stood out as the pick of the litter, selected not only by myself but also by several respected Golden Retriever breeders and a Championship Show judge. Since then, Captain has more than lived up to the expectations placed upon him.

Often described as "the goodest boy" with a wonderfully relaxed and easy-going temperament, Captain loves every moment in the show ring and is always eager to put on his best performance. One of his most memorable achievements came at just six months of age during his debut Minor Puppy show. To everyone's delight, Captain won Dog Challenge, followed by Best of Breed, before finishing the day with Best Minor Puppy in Group. As he proudly strutted from the ring, he was met with applause and cheers from many experienced breeders. After judging him, the judge came over to congratulate me, commenting on how impressive he was for his age and saying, "You're going to have a lot of fun with this dog." Those words have certainly proven to be true.

From that point onwards, Captain continued to excel in the conformation ring, consistently winning Best of Breed, Dog Challenge, and numerous Class in Group awards. He earned his Australian Champion title on 29 October 2024 at just 10½ months of age—an achievement that exceeded all my expectations. As my first homebred Champion, Captain will always hold a very special place in my heart.

In 2024, Captain and I ventured into the world of performance sports, where we discovered his incredible passion for SprintDog™. From the moment he chased the lure for the first time, it was obvious he had found something he truly loved. After only a handful of trials, he earned his first title, SprintDog Novice (N.SPRD).

Throughout 2025, Captain continued to showcase his speed, enthusiasm, and determination, adding the SprintDog (SPRD) and Junior Courser (JC) titles to his name. His success didn't stop there, as he went on to earn SprintDog Advanced (SPRD.A) and SprintDog Excellent (SPRD.X).

In 2026, Captain reached an incredible milestone by earning his SprintDog Champion (CH SPRD) title, making him a Dual Champion in both conformation and SprintDog™. He became the third Golden Retriever in Victoria and only the fourth Golden Retriever in Australia to achieve the SprintDog Champion title—a testament not only to his exceptional athleticism but also to his versatility, trainability, and unwavering desire to work alongside me.

Whether in the show ring, racing down the SprintDog track, or producing the next generation, Captain approaches every role with enthusiasm, confidence, and heart. He has far exceeded every dream I had for him and continues to remind me why he truly is one of a kind.
